CTR (Click-Through Rate)

The share of people who click after seeing an ad, a signal of relevance, not of revenue.

In Depth

Click-through rate, or CTR, is the percentage of people who click an ad after seeing it. It signals how relevant and compelling the ad is.

A healthy CTR matters for ad relevance and quality scores, but it is a means, not an end. Plenty of high-CTR ads drive clicks that never deposit. Treat CTR as a diagnostic on the way to the outcome that actually counts.
