LTV (Lifetime Value)

The total value a customer brings over the whole relationship, the number acquisition cost is judged against.

In Depth

Lifetime value, or LTV, sometimes CLV, is the total revenue or profit a customer generates over their entire relationship with you.

LTV is the number that justifies acquisition spend. In wealth and advisory, where one client can be worth years of fees, a high LTV supports a much higher acquisition cost than the lead’s apparent price suggests. Acquisition decisions made without LTV in view almost always underspend on the right customers.
